When the jewelry box first came, I worried that the oak color might be a little too dark. The furniture in the bedroom is a light, unfinished oak and the jewelry box is a darker shade of oak. Much to our surprise, the color looks terrific and the item itself looks rich when compared with other jewelry boxes we have seen. The recipient is delighted.
